STELVIO D.O.P.

In 2007, Stilfser became South Tyrol’s only cheese to have received the designation denominazione di origine protetta.

This designation guarantees pure quality, authenticity and a historical connection to its place of origin.

Stilfser is a typical mountain cheese made from pure, natural milk derived from alpine farms in South Tyrol.

Currently, our Stilfser (Stelvio) Cheese is produced in the Milkon Plant in Bruneck/Brunico and at the dairy in Burgeis/Burgusio.

The fresh milk used to make Stilfser DOP cheese is collected daily from 300 alpine farms in South Tyrol – 97% of which are located at an altitude of more than 1,000 metres – and is processed within 24 hours of delivery.
